Involvement in community programs and support for charitable efforts is an important part of Elgin's life. Starting with his playing days with the New England Patriots and through today, Elgin has devoted his time and talent to helping others. He's been involved in supporting young, at-risk kids find their way to sports and education programs, raising money and awareness for community outreach efforts and more. Elgin lives by the philosophy that he has been blessed and it is his mission to give back.

"Wisdom and Pleasure Through the Printed Word" A Literary Luncheon hosted by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Elgin was invited to be one of the featured authors at the recent Literary Luncheon hosted by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in Hinesville, Georgia. It was an honor for Elgin to be a part of the day and talk about his new book,Why Did It Happen To Me.

It was an inspiring day of community service as Elgin joined in the fun at the Flag Football Kick-Off for the Foster Buddies Network of Orlando. Surrounded by young people ready to take to the field, he had the chance to speak to the kids and parents with a motivational message of hope and inspiration. Not to be left on the sidelines, he then played some some flag football with the participants.
